These are not the official minutes of the meeting but will have to do
The running order, Once again this thorny problem has raised it's head, with complaints being made about the way we organise the acts. We currently use a first come first served system with the MC's having a certain licence to make exceptions, no-one thinks I am sure that this is perfect but it is practical. Several arguments were forwarded against this system the main ones being some people find it difficult to get in early enough to secure a spot and it was thought the list wasn't organised enough to make a balanced and entertaining evening for the audience. Unfortunately there are few realistic solutions to the problem and while some suggestions were put forward there was resistance to changing the current system not least of which came from myself and Greg. On a positive note we are going to trial a new system starting immediately, if you want to play you will need to actively seek out the person with the list and get yourself included, (this is important the MC can't be expected to chase after you particularly if it is busy ). Your name will be added to the list of players and the MC for the night will then organise a running order from that list, we will always listen to your preferences but in the name of fairness the MC's decision is final, you will from time to time be put on first or last, the choices will be: play there or don't play, also for this reason we will not allow spot swapping! if you change your mind about playing, see the MC if you don't like your allotted spot, see the MC.
Please bear with us on this, if you think you have a better idea let us know but bear in mind that the MC has to make it work and making my life hard aint going to work.
New Equipment, Again this seems to be a recurring theme and whilst there seems to be a general consensus that some new gear is required there is not enough money in the bank at the moment and rather than buying stuff piece meal we should wait a while until we have a little more
The Future, Dave Braisby has been asked to form a working group looking into a festival type event at the Rugby club for next year.
